Bob's Burgers

Elegant Too has been composing music for the hit FOX TV series Bob’s Burgers ever since the show’s second season, including the music for Bob’s Emmy Award winning episode “Bob Actually.” “Bad Girls” is a song composed by Elegant Too for Bob’s Burgers, which was made into a full length video featuring St. Vincent, performing with Bob’s Buskers… aka Chris & Phil from Elegant Too, as animated cartoon characters!

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations

It was an honor to get to work with Anthony Bourdain on his Emmy Award winning Travel Network series. Elegant Too composed the score for most of the episodes to this popular show, and also produced the opening theme with indie rock favorites, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

Inside Amy Schumer

The hit show “Inside Amy Schumer,” on Comedy Central, featured the hi-hop parody song “Milk, Milk, Lemonade,” going into its second season. The video for this song went viral, with over 8 million views. The music for “Milk, Milk, Lemonade,” was composed, produced and mixed, by Elegant Too, who also created other songs for this series.

Iggy Pop

When producer Hal Willner was making the follow up to his acclaimed pirate themed record, “Rogue’s Gallery,” he came to Elegant Too who he had worked with previously. Presenting Chris and Phil with a simple a capella vocal performed by punk rock icon Iggy Pop. Chris and Phil created the underlying music and produced the song that became the sea shanty “The Dreadnought,” featured on the album “Son of Rogue’s Gallery.”

For They Know Not What They Do

The Elegant Too is proud to be the composer team for the new film by Daniel Karslake, "For They Know Not What They Do"  a powerful exploration of the intersection of religion, sexual orientation and gender identity in America. Heartfelt but painful, devastating yet hopeful, the film examines what it really means to be "family.”

Hot Fuzz

This comedy from director Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Shaun of The Dead) stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Elegant Too produced, and Co-wrote music for an important scene in this film with Jon Spencer.

The Who Was?

Elegant Too is proud to be the composer team for The Netflix show “The Who Was” which has just been nominated for 5 Emmys!  “The Who Was” is a live-action sketch comedy show for children adapted from Penguin Young Readers' #1 New York Times bestselling biography series "The Who Was.” 

Trevor Moore

Elegant Too has a long and productive relationship working with comedian Trevor Moore. Beginning with the sketch comedy series “The Whitest Kids U’ Know” on the IFC network. Chris and Phil have continued their collaboration with Trevor scoring the shows Walk The Prank, and Just Roll With It for Disney. They have also worked together with Trevor providing music for all of his Comedy Central shows and producing his comedy albums including, “Drunk Texts To Myself,” “High In Church,” “ and “Story of Our Times.”

Silver Linings Playbook

The Oscar winning film Silver Linings Playbook directed by David O. Russell features Elegant Too’s production of the hit song Goodnight Moon written by their long time musical collaborator, Ambrosia Parsley. Elegant Too mixed Ambrosia’s debut album I Ought To Give You a Shot In The Head For Making Me Live In This Dump which sold over a million copies world wide.

Elegant Too teamed up with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion to produce this killer track…

Dice

Elegant Too composed the music and score for comedian Andrew “Dice” Clay’s semi-autobiographical series. Created by Scot Armstrong (Old School, The Hangover Pt. 2) and Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, this series aired on Showtime for two seasons.

ESPN "30 for 30"

30 for 30 is the Emmy and Peabody Award winning ESPN series, that looks back at notable, historical, sports moments. Spanning from 1979 to 2009, this documentary series features thirty films from some of Hollywood’s finest directors and producers, including Petr Berg, Albert Maysles, Morgan Freeman, Ice Cube, John Singleton, Morgan Spurlock, Brian Kopppelman, and many others. The theme music for this exceptional documentary series was composed and produced by Elegant Too.

Tequila Avion

Elegant Too followed up their work with advertising agency Opperman Weiss on “Find Sublime,” with this cinematic advertisement, directed by Jake Scott, which features an exotic and mysterious score written and produced by Elegant Too.

Find Sublime

New York based advertising agency Opperman Weiss produced this beautiful short film directed by Laurence Dunmore for Bombay Sapphire Gin. Elegant Too scored the film, creating a sound track that spans the globe. This film was shown theatrically in cinemas in the UK.

The Gentleman Shaver

The Art of Shaving, “The Gentleman Shaver,” is a branded short film scored by Elegant Too, which won Elegant Too a Clio Award for original music.

Tidy Up

Elegant Too created the playful soundtrack for this brilliant film by Japanese Director Satsuki Okawa, which was produced through a collaboration between ASCAP and Columbia University. The film went on to win Best Short Film at the LA Eiga Fest, Los Angeles. “Tidy Up” is now available as part of the Criterion Collection.

John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show

John Oliver’s comedy series was on Comedy Central for three seasons. The theme was composed and produced by Elegant Too.

Important Things With Demetri Martin

Elegant Too scored this clever and funny Comedy Central sketch series, which ran for two seasons. The theme music for this show was produced by Elegant Too, and composed as a collaboration between Elegant Too and Demetri Marin.

The We and the I (Michel Gondry)

From acclaimed writer and director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), “The We and The I” won the International Critic’s prize at the 2012 Deauville American Film Festival. Elegant Too created the original song “Pills” for this film.

The Onion News Network

The Onion News Network, the televised program based on the popular, comedic, news-parody news paper “The Onion,” ran for two seasons on the IFC network. The musical theme for the show, as well as other featured music in this series, was composed and produced by Elegant Too.

Yoko Ono

Recorded live at a career retrospective at The Japan Society, in NYC, with Elegant Too as the Musical Directors for the show. Chris Maxwell played guitar and Phil Hernandez played drums, and a turntable, both Chris and Phil operated samplers, building the music live as they backed up Yoko Ono for this experimental performance on the continuing relevance of feminism, which was later edited and released as "Blueprint for a Sunrise." 

Invisible Helmet

A “Viral Video” on release, the short film “Invisible Helmet,” was directed by Fredrik Gertten and produced by General Electric/ Focus Forward as a part of the ambitious educational series “Short Films, Big Ideas.” To date this film has received over thirteen million views on Vimeo alone. The “Short Films, Big Ideas” series features thirty, three minute films, presenting stories about innovators, and people who are reshaping our world through their actions or intentions. Directors for this series include many of the world’s most acclaimed documentary film makers. “Short Films, Big Ideas” was featured at almost every major film festival around the world. The films in this series have been viewed in 150 countries, with screenings held for audiences on all seven continents. Elegant Too created the music for “Invisible Helmet” as well as the theme music for the “Focus Forward” series brand.

Reggie Watts

Written by Reggie Watts, recorded, and produced by Elegant Too, the song “What About Blowjobs” is a twisted sex-education comedy spoof, created for the not-so-subtle website “CollegeHumor.com”

Flight of the Conchords

Remixing tracks for Sean “Puffy” Combs is how Chris and Phil initially got the start. The boys bring their hard hitting remix skills to the Flight of the Conchords hit, Too Many Dicks On The Dance Floor.

Take Care

Elegant Too are the composers for this comedy film, written and directed by Liz Tuccillo (Sex and the City, He’s Just Not That Into you), and produced by John P. Melfi (House of Cards, Sex and the City, Nurse Jackie), with score and original music created and produced by Elegant Too.

They Might Be Giants

Before Chris and Phil got their start as musical freelance go-to-guys in the early aughts, TMBG came to them for some scoring assistance for what would become the hit show Malcolm in the Middle and would become Elegant Too’s first foray into writing music for comedy. One of their underscore sessions resulted in this bass line from Elegant Too that TMBG thought was too good fo give away so they turned it into a song for their album Mink Car. Also, check out the name check at the beginning.

Malcom in the Middle

The distinctive look and sound of the hit series Malcolm in the Middle, relies heavily on elaborate post-production techniques, including fast cut-editing, sound effects and musical inserts. Working closely with They Might Be Giants band member and composer John Flansburgh, Elegant Too scored the background music for multiple scenes in this popular and ground breaking TV series on FOX, which ran for seven seasons and won seven Emmy Awards and one Peabody Award.

Walk the Prank

Kids like pranks and Elegant Too loves scoring them! Written by Trevor Moore and Adam Small, Walk The Prank was a hit kids’ show for Disney, running for three seasons, and featuring music in all episodes, as well as the shows musical theme, written and produced by Elegant Too
